The Award-winning Network
Our award-winning national network of photographers, videographers and disc jockeys
are personally selected for their artistry, personality, and dedication to their
craft. Every professional must go through a lengthy certification process, including
a 4 page application, review of references, multiple phone and in-person interviews,
and approval by no less than 3 AWG executives.
As a result, our photographers, videographers and disc jockeys average 12 years of
professional experience prior to recruitment, and only 1 in 10 are invited to be part
of the team. Our professionals have won countless awards, including being recognized
with "Best of Weddings" by Knot Brides, several "Bride Choice Awards", and multiple 1st
place finishes in National WPPI & MPPA Photography contests. Our photography has been
featured in national wedding publications such as Brides and Modern Bride.
A Family Business
The Tessler family is proud to have been in family business for three generations.
Dennis (CEO) has been the chief architect of American Wedding Group's success for
over 20 years and, inspired by the passion their father showed for his work, was
joined by his two sons in the late 90s. Keith (COO) and Brian (CMO) have displayed
interest and aptitude in complimentary fields. Keith is the structural engineer
behind American Wedding Group's operational system. Brian is the creative force

Dennis Tessler Chairman of the Board
After a very successful 23 years building businesses within the jewelry industry, Dennis decided to bring his extensive business acumen to the wedding industry in 1991. He implemented his vision of reshaping a local DJ company into a distinctive, nation-wide family of brands which also include Video and Photography services- a rarity at the time. Though he has always taken enormous pride in seeing the continued growth and success of his ventures, Dennis considers his greatest achievement to be building the businesses with his sons.
Keith Tessler Co-President and Chief Operations Officer
Since joining the organization in 1995 as Head of Production and Information Technology, Keith has made it his mission to make wedding dreams affordable for brides. Along with finding ways to attract top talent and develop innovative products, Keith has created the industry’s only enterprise-spanning, fully automated wedding production system, which enables the company to deliver wedding dreams at exceptional value.
Brian Tessler Co-President and Chief Marketing Officer
Since beginning his career in the wedding industry in 2000, Brian has been one of the creative forces driving the company’s message to brides and grooms throughout the nation. Along with managing the Sales and Marketing departments, Brian has been the architect in designing new and inventive brands and pioneering the company’s expansion to new heights.
Hugh Riley Vice President of Production
From “mailroom to corner office” can best describe Hugh’s ascent to becoming an Executive with the company. After beginning as an Assistant Manager of a small local branch in 1985, today Hugh currently oversees seven Directors who manage over 1200 professionals in over 50 major cities, and is keenly involved in ensuring brides and grooms receive the very best in wedding services. Hugh believes in leading by example as he is the first and only professional in the company who is certified as a wedding Disc Jockey, Videographer, and Photographer.
Greg White Vice President of Video and Photography
Greg started his career in 1987 as one of the company’s first freelance videographers after previously launching his own successful video business. Greg has personally shot over 1,000 wedding videos and has overseen the production of more than 40,000 videos. Throughout the years, Greg has always been at the forefront of adapting American Wedding Group to technological changes by moving the company from analog to digital in video, and from film to digital in photography.
Cait Murphy Director of Business Development
Along with her Degree in Business from Gettysburg College, Cait has employed her extensive background in Retail, Business to Consumer, and Business to Business Sales throughout her career. Starting with the company in 2010 as a part of the Sales force, Cait is now focused exclusively on developing and building successful relationships with our partners.
Kat McOwen Director of Marketing
Utilizing her background in Communications and Sales, Kat began her career with the company in 2008. As a recent bride herself, Kat has a unique understanding of what engaged couples are seeking for their own weddings, and continually strives to tap into the pulse of today’s brides and grooms by utilizing social media and a fresh approach to marketing American Wedding Group’s message.
Elizabeth Vanderpool Director of Sales
One of the company’s longest-standing members, Elizabeth has been with the company since 1996, and has advised nearly 10,000 happy brides. Consistently a leading producer in the Sales force and winning no less than 10 Company awards, Elizabeth is proud to pass on her extensive knowledge of sales techniques and stellar customer service onto the employees in her care, as well as cultivate a company atmosphere that will continuously and positively grow and develop.
